Creative Schools Project
Our association with the Creative Schools Arts Councils project has encouraged us to explore ways of working and thinking more creatively in all classes and in all that we do.
We provide lots of exposure to the Arts (Drama, Music and Visual Arts) which are used to enhance teaching and learning in core subjects also.
Digital Project
In Scoil Mhuire agus Eoin we enjoy exploring STEM subjects (Science Technology Engineering and Maths). We are a pioneering school in that we are part of the Digital Excellence in Schools initiative.
Robotics is a popular element of this.
NCCA
Scoil Mhuire agus Eoin is a selected school involved with NCCA (National Council for Curriculum and Assessment) as part of a forum examining the restructuring of our Primary Curriculum. This has given our parents and teachers opportunities to have their voices heard in the planning for future education in Ireland.
Our Nurture Room
We are delighted to have a dedicated Nurture Room. This facility allows for certain children to have time away from the classroom to develop other skills which will benefit them through their lives.
In the calmness and safety of the Nurture Room children learn to share, to listen, to learn, to show kindness, to think of others and generally to progress all kinds of social skills. Here children gain confidence and self-belief so they can achieve their personal best in the classroom, the playground and at home.
